Progress Update No2

Hey all! I've been mostly working on refactoring in the past couple of weeks. Not a lot of gameplay changes so I'm hesitant to put up a new build given that there isn't really anything new for the players.

One aspect I have been working on is a mini library for manipulating custom resources and an EditorScript for populating said resources. The act of inputting item and recipe data is fraught with error and quite tedious. So I've been working on a more robust system for inputting the data. It still has a way to go, but I'm happy with the progress.

I have notices a slow down in my progress lately though. I feel like I'm in need of a break from this project and a bit of a refresh. So I've decided that I will hold off on this current update until I have something more substantial to submit. I want every update to have something new for the players to play around with. It should be a week away, two at most. Then I'll be having a break from the project until the new year.

This will give me an opportunity to mull over what gameplay elements I want to change and any other plans I develop for the game.

This game is mostly a learning project for me. I want to use this as a testing ground for just about every essential aspect of game development. So I will be planning how I want to apply sound, special effects, and other gameplay/gamefeel aspects to the game. Along with any learning I need to do to implement these features.

So when I pick the project back up in january I will be focussing on polishing each of these aspects in turn. After which I'll decide on any future directions I wish to take my development journey. Whether that be continuing on with this project or starting a new one.

That's all I have to say for now. Thanks for reading and see you in a couple of weeks.
